Ebonized walnut is darkened using a solution of steel wool and vinegar that reacts with the wood’s natural tannins to create a rich, near-black finish. The process enhances the walnut’s natural grain rather than concealing it, allowing subtle variations in tone and texture to come through. Each piece takes on its own character as the finish responds to the wood.
